Diamond chainsaw file — for sharpening carbide chains a normal file won't touch.

Carbide-tipped chains hold an edge for ages, but when they finally dull a standard steel file won't cut them — the carbide is harder than the file. That's what a diamond file is for. The diamond grit grinds the carbide back to a clean edge, so you get more life out of an expensive chain instead of binning it.

Handy to keep in the kit if you run carbide chain for dirty, abrasive or storm-damaged timber where a normal chain blunts fast.

Pick the size to match your chain:

  • 4mm — smaller pitch chains .325 and 3/8LP .043-050
  • 5mm — larger pitch chains 3/8

Not sure which one you need? Send us a photo of your chain or the markings on your bar and we'll point you the right way.

Before you order

Diamond files are for carbide chains. Running standard (non-carbide) chain? A normal round file is all you need — just match the size. Unsure what you've got? Send a photo: farmandacreco@gmail.com or text 0431 183 421.
