.325 is a smaller pitch than 3/8, the rivets sit closer together, so the chain cuts faster and runs smoother on mid-size saws, which is why a lot of all-round farm and firewood saws come fitted with it. The .063" (1.6mm) part is the gauge, the thickness of the drive link riding in the bar groove, and it has to match your bar exactly. Run a .063 (1.6mm) chain in a thinner groove and it won't seat; run a thinner chain in a .063 groove and it rattles. If your bar stamp reads .325 and 1.6mm (or .063"), you're in the right collection. The numbers are usually stamped near the bar mount or printed on the box your old chain came in.

Pitch and gauge get you most of the way, but the loop also has to be the right length, and that's the drive link count, not the bar inches. The same 16" bar can take a different drive link count depending on brand and mount, so don't guess off bar length alone. Count the drive links on your old chain (the teeth in the groove), or send us a photo of the bar stamp and we can usually work it out pretty quickly. Order the wrong length and we'll sort it out, we'd rather get you the right loop than have you fighting a chain that won't fit.
