18 Inch Chainsaw Chains

After an 18 inch chainsaw chain? Here's our full 18" range in one spot, tungsten carbide tipped chains that stay sharp up to 10x longer, plus TUFOZI hardened-steel loops for everyday cutting. Most 18" saws run 3/8 .050 (1.3mm) or .058 (1.5mm), or .325 in .050 (1.3mm), .058 (1.5mm) or .063 (1.6mm), check the stamp on your bar, count your drive links, and match it up.

Tungsten carbide stays sharp up to 10x longer

An 18" saw is the step up from a firewood saw, it's pulling longer cuts through bigger, drier timber, and that's exactly where a standard chain gives up fast. Our 18" tungsten carbide tipped chains have a carbide cutter welded to every tooth, so they hold an edge through dry hardwood, dusty bark and the odd touch of dirt instead of going blunt after a tank or two. In Aussie hardwood that works out to a chain that stays sharp up to 10x longer than standard steel, fewer stops, more cutting. If you're working cleaner softwood and just want a sharp loop at a fair price, our TUFOZI German hardened steel chains cover that too, with the same fitment help and quick dispatch.

An 18" bar gives you the length, but the chain still has to match three things: pitch, gauge and drive link count. On 18" saws the usual combos are 3/8 .050 (1.3mm) or .058 (1.5mm) on bigger Stihl-style and Husqvarna-style saws, and .325 in .050 (1.3mm), .058 (1.5mm) or .063 (1.6mm) on mid-size gear, drive link counts on an 18" bar commonly land around 66 to 72DL. The numbers are usually stamped on the bar near the mount, or printed on the box your last chain came in. If it's worn off or you're second-guessing it, send us a photo of the bar stamp or the old chain and we can usually work it out pretty quickly.

Tungsten Carbide Chainsaw Chain 100ft Rolls

For the hardest cutting conditions, we stock tungsten carbide chainsaw chain in 100 foot rolls. Carbide-tipped cutters stay sharp 8–10 times longer than standard chain — which makes a big difference when you're cutting Australian hardwood, dirty timber, or working in sandy or dusty conditions.

Tungsten carbide chainsaw chain rolls are available in the most common pitch and gauge combinations. If you're already buying chain in bulk, stepping up to carbide means fewer stops to sharpen and more time cutting.

Who Buys Bulk Chainsaw Chain?

A 100ft chainsaw chain reel makes sense if you're:

  • Running multiple chainsaws — cut chains for different bar lengths from the same roll
  • An arborist or tree lopper — going through chains weekly and need to keep costs down
  • A farmer or property owner — cutting firewood, clearing fence lines, or managing timber on a rural block
  • A contractor or council worker — maintaining a fleet of saws across different sites

If you're only replacing a chain once or twice a year, a pre-looped chain is probably easier. But if you're cutting regularly, the savings from bulk chain add up fast.

How to Choose the Right 100ft Chainsaw Chain Roll

Every chainsaw uses a specific combination of pitchgauge, and drive link count. To order the right 100ft roll, you only need to match the pitch and gauge — you'll cut the chain to the correct number of drive links for your bar length.

Here's how to find your specs:

  1. Check the bar — pitch and gauge are usually stamped on the chainsaw bar near the tip or the mount end
  2. Check the old chain — look for markings on the drive links or cutter teeth
  3. Use our Chain Finder — punch in your saw model and get the specs instantly

You'll also need a chain breaker tool and a spinner/riveter to join the chain once it's cut to length. These are one-time purchases that pay for themselves after your first few chains.
